At Mabelux, we are specialists in the curving of aluminum profiles <\/strong>and steel curving <\/strong>for large-scale projects.<\/p>\n\n

Our experience allows us to tackle complex projects with customized solutions, both technically and aesthetically. Today, we share two major projects in France where our technology and know-how have played a key role: the Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Aix-en-Provence Library <\/strong>and La Canop\u00e9e des Halles in Paris<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n

Universit\u00e9 d\u2019Aix-en-Provence Library: curved fa\u00e7ades that integrate nature and architecture<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

The city of Aix-en-Provence<\/strong>, in southern France, launched the \u201cFenouill\u00e8res\u201d urban development project to unify its university campus through new buildings: a media library, a restaurant, and a student residence.<\/p>\n\n

The architectural firm ANMA \u2013 Agence Nicolas Michelin & Associ\u00e9s<\/strong> designed a group of buildings distinguished by their curved glass fa\u00e7ades<\/strong>, conceived to simulate a vegetal landscape <\/strong>through a play of concave and convex <\/strong>forms in different tones.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, the use of these curved fa\u00e7ades not only provides a unique visual identity to the campus, but also improves the buildings\u2019 energy efficiency by maximizing the use of natural light <\/strong>and reducing the need for artificial lighting.<\/p>\n\n

Profile curving for a glass curtain wall<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

At Mabelux, we carried out the curving of aluminum profiles <\/strong>to support the glass structure of these fa\u00e7ades. Profile curving for this type of enclosure requires a high level of precision and reliability. Among the main challenges we undertook were: <\/p>\n\n

  • Structural integration without compromising energy efficiency.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Use of durable and resistant materials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    This project demonstrates how the curving of structural profiles <\/strong>can transform architecture, enhancing both aesthetics and sustainability.<\/p>\n\n

    Thanks to our aluminum profile bending machines <\/strong>and proprietary technology, we were able to successfully execute a smooth and continuous curving process, perfectly aligned with the aesthetic and technical requirements of the project.<\/p>\n\n

    La Canop\u00e9e des Halles: the curved roof that redefines the center of Paris<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

    The Forum des Halles<\/strong>, located in the heart of Paris, is one of the most frequented spaces in the French capital. Over the years, it has evolved from a traditional market into a shopping center, cultural hub, and civic meeting place. <\/p>\n\n

    In its latest transformation, the renovation project <\/strong>included the construction of La Canop\u00e9e<\/strong>, a large-scale undulating roof that redefines the urban landscape of the district. This structure unifies the Forum des Halles complex and connects it with the city. <\/p>\n\n

    A monumental structure of glass and steel<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

    The curved metal roof<\/strong> measures 500 meters in length<\/strong> and reaches a height of 24 meters, extending between two lateral wings that form a large open space facing the Ch\u00e2telet\u2013Les Halles square<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

    It is composed of a deep truss structure<\/strong>, with a dense network of curved beams that support more than 18,000 glass panels<\/strong>, filtering natural light and creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n

    This type of construction requires extremely precise engineering and manufacturing work, especially in the metal components that support the roof.<\/p>\n\n

    3D aluminum curving for glass structures<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n

    For this technical challenge, we manufactured:<\/p>\n\n

    • 3D curved aluminum<\/strong> frames.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Curved VEC frames<\/strong> for integration with spherical glass.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
